NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani held a press conference.
Stoltenberg said that in the meeting they discussed the tensions in the north of Kosovo, and the mission to maintain ongoing peace in Europe.
According to him, the situation in the north of Kosovo was an unusual situation.
"We just discussed the tensions in the north of Kosovo, and the mission to maintain the ongoing peace in Europe. In the north of Kosovo, 33 people were injured, a situation not at all serious and acceptable for the stability of the Region. I see this as of utmost importance and the dots should be met as much as possible. Any departure of police forces from the north of Kosovo requires the involvement of KFOR and consultation of actions by the Kosovo police, which may affect the security of the environment.
NATO has hundreds of troops in Kosovo, we are ready to fulfill our mandate, to ensure peace and a safe environment in Kosovo. We are in contact with the security organizations in Kosovo and with the chief of defense in Serbia, regarding the points undertaken by Kosovo to reduce tensions. For the elections in the north of Kosovo, in order to avoid ongoing tensions, all parties must act as decided." said Stoltenberg./ CNA
