Shootings in Brussels metro / Police searching for perpetrators

A shooting incident occurred today at a metro station in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

The incident occurred at around 6:15 a.m. local time.

Three metro stations have been closed while police search for the suspects.

So far, no reports of injuries.

Videos from local media show images of two men entering the Clemenceau metro station in central Brussels and opening fire. The station, along with several others in the Belgian capital, were closed after the incident.

"Surveillance camera footage shows that the suspects fled towards the Clemenceau metro station. For security reasons, we had to close the metro line. There are no casualties," the police spokeswoman said.

Prosecutors have said there was no terrorist motive behind the shooting. /CNA
