Study: Europe is losing the war on cocaine and cannabis

Europe's war on drugs appears to be going in the wrong direction, as a new scientific study shows an increase in the use of illegal drugs in European cities. 

The latest results from the collaborative study carried out by the 'SCORE' group and the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Addiction (EMCDDA) revealed metabolites of cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, amphetamine, MDMA and ketamine. 

The study, conducted in 104 cities in 21 countries, revealed an increase in the detection of cocaine and methamphetamine in Europe, reports Euronews.  

"Gjetjet e sotme paraqesin një pamje të një problemi të drogës që është sa i përhapur dhe kompleks, me të gjashtë substancat të zbuluara pothuajse në çdo vend. Tani një shkencë e themeluar, mbikëqyrja e 'ujërave të zeza' na ofron një pasqyrë në rritje për dinamikën e përdorimit dhe furnizimit të drogës", tha në një deklaratë drejtori Alexis Goosdeel. 

Kokaina, në veçanti, u zbulua në të gjitha qytetet e përfshira në studim dhe shifrat në rritje të saj tregojnë për disponueshmëri dhe përdorim të gjerë në publikun e gjerë.
