Serious in Brazil/ The young man enters the garden and kills 4 children with an axe

A 20-year-old man killed 4 children in a kindergarten in the southern city of Blumenau, in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

The victims are three boys and a girl, between five and seven years old, who were killed with an axe. 

Shortly after that, the perpetrator appeared at a police station and the motives of this serious event are still unknown.

In 2021, the same state saw a similar attack at a daycare center, where an assailant killed three children under the age of 2 and two adults.

Santa Catarina Governor Jorginho Mello declared three days of mourning, while Blumenau Mayor Mario Hildebrandt suspended classes.

The government stated that rumors circulating on social media about other possible attacks were false.

Blumenau, a city of 366,000 inhabitants, is famous for its annual Oktoberfest.
