Study: 3.5 billion people experienced extreme heat during July

Global warming has made July the hottest for four out of five people on Earth, and more than two billion people feel the heat caused by climate change every day, according to a new study by Climate Central.

More than 6.5 billion people, or 81 percent of the world's population, sweated at least one day during July in areas where climate change had a significant impact.

"We really are experiencing climate change almost everywhere," said Climate Central Vice President Andrew Pershing.

The day with the most widespread climate change impact was July 10, when 3.5 billion people experienced extreme heat, the report said, adding that the hottest day was July 7.
