Spain announces decree/Exports to Israel banned

The Spanish parliament recently passed a law prohibiting the government from selling weapons to Israel. The decree, already in force, prohibits the export of defense equipment, products or technologies to Israel, as well as imports of such goods from Israel.

It also bans the transit of aviation fuel with potential military use and prohibits the advertising of products originating from illegal settlements in Gaza and the West Bank.

But there is another detail, the government is allowed to trade dual-use protective equipment if the implementation of the ban under this law harms the general national interests.

Meanwhile, last month, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez issued a decree strengthening measures taken by Spain against Israeli attacks on Gaza./CNA
