Brussels is expected to be paralyzed by strikes, stranding over 70,000 airline passengers.
The Belgian capital's airports are expected to come to a complete halt on October 14, as strikes by security and ground staff are expected to prevent all flights from taking off from European aviation hubs.
Brussels Airport is expected to cancel all flights and Brussels South Charleroi Airport will also cancel flights until October 14.
The airport offers an average of 200 flights per day, according to the Brussels Airport website.
"Due to the national union action on Tuesday, October 14, in which the staff of the security service provider are participating, we unfortunately expect a major impact on the work of our airport," the announcement says.
The extent of the impact is still unclear, as the levels of disruption for these flights will be determined by the yet-to-be-determined level of airline staff participation./CNA
