DUI candidate shot dead in Kumanovo/His wife arrested

The DUI candidate for the municipality of Lipkovo was injured yesterday with a gunshot in Kumanovo. His wife has been arrested in connection with the incident, as she is suspected of being connected to the attempted murder of Zekerija Shaini.

The Ministry of Interior in North Macedonia has announced that six people have been summoned for questioning in connection with the case. Meanwhile, it is also announced that the perpetrator of the attack is wanted by the police and work is underway to arrest him. The police have also conducted searches in the apartment of a 50-year-old man from Kumanovo.

"On 07.10.2025, the police officers of the Kumanovo SPB deprived AA (43) from Tetovo of her liberty, due to the well-founded suspicion that she was connected to the attempted murder of her husband Z.Sh. (43) from the village of Sllupçan, Lipkovo region. Also, six people were summoned to the Kumanovo SPB for an official interview regarding the incident, and a court order was issued to search the house of BS (50) from Kumanovo. After fully documenting the case, appropriate charges will be filed against AA, while criminal charges will also be filed against LF (36) from Gostivar, who is suspected of attempted murder and is still at large, after consultation with the Basic Public Prosecution Office,"  the ministry's announcement states./CNA
