6.8 kg of drugs seized/ Venezuelan Minister: Albanian mafia is operating from

Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello announced on Tuesday the seizure of a massive drug shipment of 6,850 kilograms.

"With this result, the Venezuelan state has reached a total of 7,148 kilograms seized" in just the first 13 days of January.

During his speech, Cabello detailed that "the main shipment consisted of 238 packages, which contained a total of 14,280 packages."

Cabello specified that the operation resulted in the seizure of 6,850.41 kilograms of illegal substances. The shipment consisted of 14,199 packages of marijuana (6,758.66 kg) and 81 packages of cocaine (91.75 kg).

"This is a major blow to the narrative that says Venezuela facilitates trafficking. Neither cocaine, nor marijuana, nor any drug that the state can stop along the way will pass through here," declared Cabello, emphasizing that each seizure represents "the removal of an obstacle" to the criminal logistical structure.

Cabello stated that operations have also been carried out in Zulia, most of which are related to drug seizures.

The first procedure he mentioned was the arrest of three people who had 75 packages of marijuana and 39,450 kilograms of the same substance.

The second operation was the arrest of three other people who were in possession of 50 packages and 50 kilograms of marijuana in the state of Zulia.

He specified that the people involved in both cases have connections to the "Albanian mafia operating from Ecuador" and that he, as minister, calls it "a real war against drug trafficking."

Cabello explained that, by blocking sea and air routes, mafias are forced to use land routes where they are more vulnerable to state surveillance./ CNA
