Kosovo has continued to attract more and more visitors even after the summer season.
The month of September 2025 has brought a significant increase in tourist movement in the country, marking more hotel stays and increased interest from both local and foreign visitors.
During this month, a total of 64,727 visitors were registered in Kosovo hotels, which represents an increase of 3.7% compared to September 2024, when 62,393 visitors were recorded.
Of this number, 39.1% were local (around 25,330 visitors), while 60.9% were foreign (around 39,397 visitors), indicating that international tourism continues to have a large weight in the country's hotel sector.
In total, 146,598 overnight stays were realized during September, of which:
50.6% were made by domestic visitors (about 74,175 overnight stays), while 49.4% were made by foreign visitors (about 72,423 overnight stays).
These figures show a good balance between domestic and international tourism, demonstrating sustainable tourist activity even after the peak summer months.
Peja region – most visited by locals
Regarding domestic tourism, the Peja Region has been the most frequented destination in the country.
In September 2025, Peja hosted 8,281 domestic visitors, who made a total of 25,048 overnight stays.
This result confirms Peja as one of the strongest points of Kosovo's tourism, thanks to its rich mountainous nature, thermal springs and wide offer for recreational tourism.
Foreign visitors – mostly from Albania and Germany
The number of foreign visitors has remained stable compared to the previous year, with 39,397 visitors in total.
The countries that top the list of tourists who visited Kosovo during this month are:
Albania
Germany
Switzerland
Turkey
Montenegro
North Macedonia
Ital
Austria
These data show that Kosovo continues to remain a favorite destination for tourists from the region and the diaspora, who constitute a significant portion of foreign visitors./ Monitor Magazine
