Second round of local elections/ Kurti: The result is a success for LVV

The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, and also the leader of the LVV, Albin Kurti, spoke to the media outside his party's headquarters about the elections in Kosovo. Kurti described the LVV's result as a success, but added that the goal was even greater than that.

"First, let me thank all the citizens who exercised their right to democratically elect the mayors of 18 municipalities in this second round. The Vetevendosje Movement is participating in local elections for the fourth time. The first time in 2013 we won one municipality, the second time in 2017 we won 3 municipalities, the third time in 2021 we won 4 municipalities and based on the data we received from our commissioners this time we won in 7 municipalities. This is a success of the Vetevendosje Movement. Of course, we aimed for even more than that ," said Kurti. 

Among other things, Kurti said that in these elections all other political forces were united against LVV. He announced that he would join the festive rallies in Fushë Kosovë, Kastriot and Mitrovica from the LVV headquarters.

"In addition, it is clear that we have also won in Mitrovica and we have also won in Fushë Kosovë and Obiliq. I thank our candidates, their teams, election headquarters and our activists who have had an extraordinary battle since in all these cases everyone else has united against LVV. So, LVV has been faced with their common ground, which is an unprecedented situation in the political situation of Kosovo, so this is a success of Vetëvendosje and the citizens. We are still waiting for the results from the other municipalities. We will certainly address them again when we receive them, but now I have to rush to the festive rally first in Fushë Kosovë, then in Kastriot, and then of course in Mitrovica", he said. /CNA
