Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called on all citizens to exercise their right to vote, as runoff elections are held in 18 municipalities across the country this Sunday.

In his speech after leaving the polling station, Kurti said that today's vote is important for well-being, dignity and quality of life. 

"During this campaign, I have worked in three shifts, covering the municipalities of Kosovo and have tried to observe the preparations for the elections, because municipal/local elections are no less important than parliamentary/central ones, given that the citizens of the Republic are also residents of the municipalities and it is extremely important for the well-being, dignity and quality of life in general what kind of mayors they will have.

The ballot was simple, there were only two names, one of them would definitely become president in the evening.

"The 18 municipalities where elections are being held today in the run-off are less than half of the municipalities of Kosovo, but if you look at which municipalities are in question, it is clear that they are probably over 80 percent of the population of the Republic," Kurti said./CNA
