5-car accident in Chicago/ 1 victim and 2 injured in the incident

One person was killed and two others were injured in a five-vehicle crash in Chicago's West Lawn neighborhood, police said.

The crash was reported along West Marquette Road near South Hamlin Avenue. Police said three people were in a dark-colored vehicle traveling westbound when it struck a dark-colored Kia sedan driven by a 32-year-old man.

After the initial collision, the vehicle struck three other vehicles, which were parked.

An unidentified male was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead, authorities said. A 26-year-old man was hospitalized with unknown injuries and in good condition, police said. A third person, also a 26-year-old man, was taken to the hospital after the crash. /CNA
