There are reports of Israeli airstrikes in Syria

Israeli airstrikes have hit trucks in Syria carrying aid to Lebanese citizens, injuring three aid workers.

This is what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, a British-based organization that monitors the war in Syria through a network of sources inside the country.

Israeli warplanes "carried out airstrikes with three missiles, targeting three trucks filled with food and medical supplies," the Observer said.

According to the war monitor, the trucks were inside an Iranian vehicle factory south of Homs at the time of the attack.

"Trucks went to Syria through Iraq to provide humanitarian aid to the Lebanese people" who have been affected by the intensification of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.

On Friday, Lebanon said Israeli strikes had destroyed a road on the border with Syria that connects the two countries.

Israel has repeatedly targeted the border area in recent days, after it said Hezbollah - the militant group and political party that controls most of southern Lebanon - brought weapons across the border from Syria.

Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria since the start of the country's civil war in 2011, mostly targeting army positions and fighters backed by Iran.
