Protesters interrupt Netayanhu's speech

Protesters interrupted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech during a ceremony held on October 27 to remember the victims of last year's attack by Hamas - the Palestinian group designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union - on Israel. .

Protesters chanted "shame on him" and booed, forcing Netanyahu to cut short his address shortly after he began speaking.

This event, in memory of the victims of the attack on October 7, 2023, was broadcast live throughout Israel.

Many Israelis blame Netanyahu for failures that enabled Hamas to carry out the attack in southern Israel last October. They also hold the Israeli prime minister responsible for the failure to release the remaining hostages held in Gaza by Hamas.

During the unprecedented attack, Hamas killed nearly 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and kidnapped nearly 250 others. There are still close to 100 hostages in Gaza, most of whom are believed to be dead. As a result of Israel's air, land and sea offensive, more than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, most of the victims were women and children.

Israel has vowed to destroy Hamas and return the hostages./ Rel
