Meloni: We have changed the image of Italy, from a black sheep to a model to follow

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has attended a campaign rally in Bari ahead of the regional local elections expected to be held in two weeks.

Meloni said that her government, part of those with the longest mandate, has changed Italy's image in Europe from a black sheep to a model to follow.

"I remember how they said we would never be able to govern the nation, or that we would last less than six months. Today we are the third longest-serving government in Italy out of 68. And three days ago, the Financial Times wrote that Europe should learn from our country ," Meloni said.

The Italian Prime Minister emphasized that she intends to serve until the five-year term of the current Parliament and that afterwards it will be the citizens who will judge her work.

"Only Italians have the right to send Meloni home. It's something the left is not used to, it's democracy ," she said, among other things. /CNA
