A prison guard in the UK has been sentenced after it was discovered that she had had sexual relations with a prisoner. According to British media reports, the prisoner is a 42-year-old Albanian convicted of drug trafficking.

The incident was discovered by the prison officer's body camera, which had filmed everything. The Cambridge court sentenced the guard to about 8 months in prison.

Rebecca Pinckard had previously been warned for her unethical behavior because she was "too familiar" with prisoners and gave them "cakes and sweets."

The prosecutor in the case said that the sexual videos of the Albanian in his prison cell were found on the guard's cell phone and "it is accepted that the videos were filmed in the cell and then sent via social media with messages." 

The Albanian, who appeared in court via a video link from prison, admitted at a previous hearing to the unauthorized possession of a mobile phone in prison between July 2 and July 6, 2024.

He was jailed for 10 consecutive months in addition to his current sentence of 16 years and three months for drug trafficking for which he was convicted at Luton Crown Court in 2022. /CNA
