"It's been among the worst"/ Trump again criticizes Meloni

US President Donald Trump, in an exclusive interview with Tgcom24, has again criticized Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Commenting on a recent post on his social network "Truth Social", Trump stated that the US has been treated badly by its allies, including Italy.

He said that Meloni has behaved "very badly" towards a country that, according to him, has spent thousands of billions of dollars on Italy's defense.

"I'm talking about NATO in general, not just your country. But it's been among the worst," Trump said.

Asked if he was considering withdrawing the US from NATO, Trump did not give a clear answer and said briefly: "I don't want to say."

His statements are expected to spark new reactions in relations between the US, Italy and NATO allies, especially at a time when defense issues and member countries' financial contributions remain controversial topics. /CNA
