The nationwide internet shutdown in Iran entered its fifth day today.

Foreign media report from sources inside Tehran that the protests are continuing and expanding, while security forces have increased their strict measures.

Daily life, communications, and economic activity have been severely disrupted by the shutdown of internet service.

Global internet monitoring organization NetBlocks said Iran remains completely disconnected from the global internet network, leaving millions of people unable to access information, contact family and relatives, or check on the safety of loved ones.

In some areas, even the so-called "national internet" has been turned off, allowing users to access approved local and official websites and apps. /CNA
