Two Iranian diplomats seek political asylum in Denmark and Australia

Two Iranian diplomats have sought political asylum in the countries where they were serving. One worked at the Iranian embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark. The other was a diplomat in Canberra, Australia.

As reported by foreign media, the diplomats mentioned are: Alireza Sohbati, diplomat at the Iranian embassy in Denmark, and Mohammad Pournajaf, senior diplomat at the Iranian embassy in Australia.

The latter had also been the charge d'affaires at the embassy, ??thus one of the main diplomatic figures.

The main reasons for the request for asylum by diplomats are related to the tense situation in Iran:
