Two Russian military planes violate Lithuanian airspace / NATO immediately activates defenses

Two Russian military aircraft violated Lithuanian airspace this afternoon. The country's President, Gitanas Nauseda, reacted and said that this is a flagrant violation of international law and the territorial integrity of Lithuania.

"This evening, Russian military aircraft violated Lithuanian airspace. This is a flagrant violation of international law and the territorial integrity of Lithuania. Once again, this confirms the importance of strengthening European air defense readiness. The Foreign Ministry will summon representatives of the Russian embassy to protest against the reckless and dangerous behavior," he wrote. 

According to reports, NATO fighter jets patrolling from Poland were immediately called in to respond to the threat. /CNA
