Discussions about war/ Zelensky meets with President Erdogan in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, who visited Istanbul, on Saturday.

Zelensky's visit is for talks on energy and shipping security, as well as efforts to end the war with Russia, the Turkish presidency said.

The visit came a day after Erdogan spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who accused Kiev of trying to target the gas pipeline between Russia and Turkey that supplies several European countries.

In his meeting with the Ukrainian president, Erdogan stressed the importance Turkey attaches to navigation safety in the Black Sea and the essential nature of energy supply security, the Turkish presidential press office said.

The two leaders discussed relations between the countries, peace efforts in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and regional and international developments./CNA
