Five lions escaped last month from their enclosure at Taronga Zoo, in Sydney, Australia.

This lion escape was caught on camera. It was Taronga Zoo itself that released footage of the incident.

The animals did not go far and with quick intervention they all returned safely to their dens.

The BBC reports that this incident happened on November 2, when the lions, four cubs and an adult were seen outside their enclosure. This forced staff and visitors to hide in "safe areas" and prompted a review of the zoo's security.

Animal escapes are rare in Taronga, but rangers are said to be ready for such events with an action plan that includes anesthetic darts and nets./ BA - CNA.al
