Britain supports Ukraine with troops and aircraft/ Starmer: Economic pressure on

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders such as Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz, and Georgi Meloni, emphasized that even in the event of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, Europe must still provide Ukraine with protection and increase its defense capability in the event of a future attack by Russia.

Starmer presented the four main points that the leaders agreed on at this meeting, while stating that to achieve stability in Europe, America's cooperation will also be needed, something for which the British Prime Minister appeared very positive.

"First, we will keep the flow of military aid and continue to increase economic pressure on Russia to strengthen Ukraine.

Second, we agreed that any lasting peace must ensure Ukraine's sovereignty and security, and Ukraine must definitely be at the table during the negotiations.

Third, in the event of a peace agreement, we will continue to increase Ukraine's defense capabilities to deter any future invasion.

Fourth, we will move forward to develop a coalition to defend a settlement in Ukraine and ensure peace. Not every nation will feel able to contribute, but that does not mean we will sit idly by.

"Instead, those who wish will step up planning now with urgency, the UK is prepared to support this with troops in Ukraine as well as aircraft in the air, along with others. Europe must bear the brunt of this situation," Starmer said. /CNA
