US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are expected to meet in Washington in late July, a White House official said.

At that time, namely on July 24, Netanyahu is expected to address the US Congress regarding his army's war in Gaza.

Despite the war, the US has continued to support Israel, both diplomatically and in providing weapons, but Biden has repeatedly expressed concerns about Israel's behavior.

In one case, he described it as "extreme".

During a phone call with Netanyahu in April, Biden urged him to take more steps to protect civilians in Gaza, saying US policy could change.

The war in Gaza erupted in October last year, when Hamas - a terrorist group declared by the US and other powers - first attacked Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking hundreds more hostage.
