Europol's action/ 22 arms traffickers are arrested in Europe, how the gangs

 

Europol has developed an action in Europe during the last months, led by the authorities of Romania and Bulgaria for the capture of persons who carried out arms trade.

The operation spanned 31 countries, where 22 people were arrested and targeted individuals suspected of buying weapons. 

Controls were carried out in 143 apartments. Meanwhile, 129 firearms, 1,492 alarm weapons, 24,735 unconverted cartridges, 6 hand grenades, 276 kilograms of dynamite were seized.

Most of the weapons, including signal guns, that were seized were models manufactured in Turkey.

How did gangs operate? 

Këto armë ishin importuar në BE dhe ishin ofruar ligjërisht për shitje në Bullgari dhe shtete të tjera anëtare. Pasi shiteshin, ato shpesh trafikoheshin përtej kufijve dhe shndërroheshin në armë vdekjeprurëse në vende të tjera brenda ose jashtë BE-së. 

Ky proces konvertimi përfshin modifikimin e armëve për t'i bërë ato të afta të gjuajnë me municion të vërtetë, gjë që është e paligjshme. Pas konvertimit, armët shpërndaheshin nëpërmjet kanaleve të paligjshme, duke kontribuar në përhapjen e armëve të zjarrit të paligjshme.

Në këtë aksion të koordinuar morën pjesë vendet e mëposhtme: Austria, Belgjika, Bullgaria, Kroacia, Qiproja, Republika Çeke, Danimarka, Estonia, Finlanda, Franca, Gjermania, Greqia, Hungaria, Letonia, Luksemburgu, Holanda, Polonia, Portugalia, Rumania, Sllovenia , Spanja, Suedia, Shqipëria, Kosova, Mali i Zi, Maqedonia e Veriut, Norvegjia, Serbia, Zvicra, Ukraina, Mbretëria e Bashkuar.
