The former American president, Donald Trump, has left his home in Florida for New York, where the criminal charges will be read to him.

The 76-year-old Republican, the first president in US history to be criminally indicted, will be formally charged on Tuesday over the payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence shortly before the 2016 presidential election.
