At least 26 people have died as a result of a series of tornadoes that hit many cities in the southern and western parts of the United States of America.

Many homes were destroyed and thousands of people were left without power as tornadoes wreaked havoc in several states.

According to the American medium "Washington Post", more than 60 tornadoes have been recorded in these countries. In many states - such as Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Alabama and Mississippi - human casualties have also been reported.
