"He's not really going away, he'll be back often"/ Trump

US President Donald Trump has publicly praised Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), stating that they have brought about a tremendous change in the way the federal government operates.

The US president officially bid Musk farewell on his last day as a senior White House adviser, but made it clear that the departure would not be permanent.

 "He's not really going away. He's going to be back often," Trump said from the Oval Office, with Musk at his side, during a joint press conference from a place where only the president of the country is accustomed to making statements.

During their joint appearance, Trump praised Musk's contribution to reorganizing the federal government, saying he has done a fantastic job.

"The mentality at the top of every federal agency has really changed," Trump said.

It is noted that, following the cuts imposed by DOGE, federal agencies have been drastically reduced: New hiring has essentially been frozen, while programs considered "non-essential" - especially those with an international focus - have been eliminated. /CNA
