Israeli media reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the latest US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
This comes after Middle East envoy Witkoff said he was optimistic about brokering a deal to end more than 19 months of war in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has accepted the proposal of US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff for a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange.
"Israel accepts Witkoff's new outline," Netanyahu reportedly said during a meeting with the families of hostages held by Hamas.
Hamas also confirmed on Thursday that it had received the new ceasefire proposal from the mediators and was considering it.
"I have some very good feelings about reaching a long-term solution - a temporary ceasefire, a peaceful resolution of that conflict," he said on Wednesday./ CNA
