NATO Assembly/US Embassy publishes Landau's speech: Endless and expansive

The US Embassy in Tirana has published the speech of Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, delivered at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

In his speech, Landau said to cooperate only with people committed to practical achievements for their countries.

Further, the deputy secretary said that endless and unrestricted politics becomes an enemy of strategy and the constitutional state.

 

“ The United States can be a willing partner with considerable political capital. We can work hard; but we will work only with those who are committed to practical realism for their countries. We reject both unacceptable extremes of the desire for extraordinary transformation, on the one hand, or the revision of ancient grievances, on the other. Endless and expansive politics, without restraint and historical humility, becomes an enemy of strategy and constitutional statebuilding. This is not our purpose, our function, or our mission ,” Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said at the 2025 NATO Parliamentary Assembly./ CNA
