The leader of DUI, Ali Ahmeti, has announced that the candidate of the National Alliance for Integration coalition for mayor of Skopje will be Skënder Rexhepi Zejdi.

Ahmeti made the announcement through a post on social media, writing that Zejdi's candidacy was decided with complete unanimity by the coalition member parties.

The leader of DUI writes that Skënder Rexhep Zejdi's candidacy for the Municipality of Skopje represents not only the unity of Skopje's Albanians, but also a clear alternative for the city.

Skënder Rexhepi Zejdi is the chairman of the political party "People's Movement".

"After consultations with the leaders of the political parties that make up the National Alliance for Integration, with full unity and by joint decision, we agreed that our candidate for Mayor of the City of Skopje will be Mr. Skender Rexhepi - Zejd.

Mr. Rexhepi is the Chairman of the political party “People’s Movement”, a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy, with a long and proven experience in the civil sector and civil society. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, where he has been the unwavering voice of citizens, defender of their rights and advocate for profound political and social reforms.

His candidacy represents not only the unity of the progressive forces of Albanians in North Macedonia, but also a clear alternative for Skopje, a city that deserves equitable development, transparent and inclusive governance.

The National Alliance for Integration is convinced that with Mr. Skender Rexhepi - Zejd, Skopje will have a mayor who knows reality, listens to the citizen and works for everyone, without distinction," Ahmeti writes./ CNA
