A Turkish businessman sailing from Yalova, Turkey, to Greece has gone missing after his private yacht was discovered badly damaged and partially submerged near Marmara Island, located in the Sea of Marmara.
Halit Yukay, 43, is said to have set out alone on a boat called the Graywolf before losing contact with those on shore.
According to the Turkish Coast Guard, teams launched a search and rescue operation after Yukay's relatives reported him missing.
Authorities eventually found the sunken ship in a dilapidated condition, but there was no sign of its owner. Efforts to find the Yukay are still ongoing, with specialist units continuing to search the area by sea and air.
Footage from the marina in Yalova has emerged, showing Yukay leaving the port on his yacht before the incident.
The video, which appears to have been recorded by a security camera, captured the moment the ship left the pier, although it does not provide any clues as to what may have happened next. /CNA
