Constitution in Kosovo/ Osmani: Request to the Constitutional Court is withdrawn, due to Serbian judge

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, announced today that she has officially withdrawn her request to the Constitutional Court in Kosovo on the issue of the constitution of the Assembly.

Osmani indicated that the decision was taken in response to the appointment of Judge Radomir Laban as rapporteur for this case.

"Today I have withdrawn the request submitted on July 22, 2025, in accordance with the Law on the Constitutional Court and the relevant Regulation. The decision came after confirmation that Radomir Laban has been appointed as a reporting judge - a person for whom our security institutions have provided official information on dangerous activities in 2018, 2021 and 2024," Osmani declared at a press conference.

Radomir Laban is a current member of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, proposed by the Serbian List and appointed by former President Hashim Thaçi in August 2018. 

In 2011, a Serbian court found Laban guilty of bribery and sentenced him to six years in prison. /CNA
