Stop/ Accused of rape, the police chief pleads not guilty and waits to return to

In October 2021, we broadcast the case of Mr. Izmir Duraku, a crime specialist at the police in Fushë-Arrëz. He said that he was accused by citizen Adriana Berisha, from the Shkodra orphanage, that Duraku had raped her.

According to her, Izmir took her to an apartment and she became pregnant, forcing her to have an abortion. Adriana claimed that the incident happened in 2015. Izmir Duraku was arrested on June 5, 2020 and released the next day, as there was no evidence. But two days later, Izmir was expelled from the police precisely for this charge.

The Shkodra Prosecutor's Office investigated and did not prove the charge. The prosecution even drew parallels with other allegations made by girls, all unproven. In contrast, Adriana Berisha was prosecuted for false reporting.

Today, after almost 3 years, Izmir Duraku shows that he has in his hands the final decision of the Court of Shkodra, which proves that he has nothing to do with the incident claimed by the whistleblower.
