The Saranda branch held elections for its new leadership.
As of today, the newly elected chairperson is Ms. Matilda Qurku. I wish her well in this mission that she has undertaken and she has all my support and goodwill, as well as that of the chairperson, to do the best job possible together.
I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the chairman, Mr. Shpëtim Ahmeti, for his valuable contribution in a difficult year of leading the branch, during an electoral campaign in the face of the drug regime. Mr. Ahmeti remains a valuable collaborator and asset of the Democratic Party, and will continue in his function as elected vice chairman to contribute to the branch and the electoral battles that await us.
I also sincerely thank the candidate Mr. Kreshnik Shehu, a valuable man, tireless in the tasks assigned during the campaign and in exercising his function as legal and electoral secretary.
Matilda and Niku conducted a civic competition, with respect and dignity, and will continue to be close collaborators in the branch.
Gratitude to the members of the Democratic Party for participating in the elections, they are the heart of the Democratic Party. A special congratulations for the seriousness and work of the election commission in the branch, headed by Mr. Erjon Shabani.
All together we continue organizing for the next protest, on February 28th.
