Bridge at Arrat e Gurrës/ ARRSH: Declared impassable, will be dismantled

The situation on the national axis near the "Arrat e Gurrës" area, in the village of Dragostunjë in Librazhd, has worsened, as the bridge in this segment has suffered significant damage and has been officially declared impassable.

According to the Director of the Albanian Road Authority, Ami Kozeli, the bridge structure has lost its safety parameters, making it impossible for vehicles and pedestrians to pass over it. Under these conditions, the decision has been made to dismantle it as an emergency measure to avoid any possible danger.

The damage was caused as a result of ground movements and geological problems that have affected this road segment for days, creating a complicated situation for traffic on the strategic axis that connects the area with the rest of the country.

Authorities indicate that in parallel with the dismantling of the bridge, alternatives are being considered for provisional solutions and then the construction of a new structure, with the aim of restoring normality to this important road junction as quickly as possible.

Until further notice, the segment remains blocked and road users must follow the diversions determined by the relevant structures./ CNA
