Killed two people after conflict over car crash/ Tirana Prosecution seeks 25

The Tirana Prosecution has requested a 25-year prison sentence for a former police officer, who is accused of a murder that occurred in June 1997.

Citizen T. Ç. is accused of the murder with a firearm of two brothers, specifically citizens with the initials LH and ED. According to the prosecutor's announcement, everything happened after a conflict over a car crash.

It is also stated that the defendant has shown no sign of remorse for the murder he committed.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana is requesting a 25-year prison sentence for citizen T.Ç. for the criminal offense of 'Premeditated Murder' committed in collaboration, as provided for in article 78 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

From the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 2103 of 1997, it resulted that the defendant T.Ç. worked as a police officer at Police Station No. 4 in Tirana, a position from which he was released on 15.06.1997. During the time he was on duty, he was equipped with a Kalashnikov model automatic weapon, which he did not surrender but kept in his apartment without permission from the competent authorities.

This citizen, on 27.11.1997 at around 20:30 in neighborhood no. 9, B.Curri Street, fired an automatic firearm at the victims, citizens LH and ED, causing their instant death.

The victims were traveling in a Volvo car at the time of the murder. After committing the murder, the defendant T.Ç. immediately left the scene.

During the investigation of this criminal proceeding, the cause of this serious incident resulting in the murder of citizens ED and LH has not been clearly determined. From what emerged during the trial, it results that the defendant T. Ç. three or four days before the incident, driving a Mercedes Benz 240, collided with the car in which citizens LH and ED were traveling, resulting in damage to both vehicles. After the accident, the defendant had a conflict with citizens ED and LH and then, by not agreeing on the damages caused, contradictions arose which led to the occurrence of this serious incident resulting in the murder of citizens LH and ED.

From the documents administered in the file, it results that the defendant has evaded the investigation and trial of the case in his charge. The defendant has not shown any sign of remorse for what he has committed, the murder of two citizens who were young.

Considering the circumstances of the case and the sanction provided by law for this criminal offense, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, requests the guilty plea of ??the defendant, T.Ç. for the criminal offense of 'Premeditated Murder' to the detriment of citizens ED and LH and his sentence to 25 years in prison. /CNA
