From Shkodra to Korça/ Ministry of Defense provides updates on areas

The Ministry of Defense has provided updates regarding the situation in areas affected by bad weather.

In the Lezha region, it is reported that the road in the village of Shpërtheth remains damaged by the waters of the Droje River, while work is being done on the ground to repair it. Also in Milot, work is continuing to ensure passability on the Skuraj–Gallatë road segment. 

In the regions of Durrës, Korça and Kukës, the situation is moving towards normalization and national road axes are passable.

It is reported that in the Shkodra district, the Ndërlysaj–Breg-Lumi segment remains blocked, where works will continue today.

Regarding the Gjirokastra region, it is reported that there is currently increased water presence on the Gjirokastra-Tepelena road segment, on the Kardhiqi bridge and on the river bridge roundabout in the city of Gjirokastra.

The Ministry also reports that OSHEEE teams are continuing work to restore power supply to areas where there have been outages.

WEATHER NOTICE:

During the night, all local structures and operational teams continued work on the ground to normalize the situation in areas affected by bad weather, to secure road axes and to restore electricity.

SITUATION BY DISTRICT

Lezha District

Work continues to normalize the situation in the villages of Gjorm, Zhejë and Fushë Mamurras in the Mamurras administrative unit, Kurbin municipality.

The road in the village of Shpërtheth remains damaged by the waters of the Droje River, but is being worked on by forces on the ground.

Work is also continuing to ensure traffic flow on the Skuraj-Gallatë road segment, Milot administrative unit, but also in the Kaçinar administrative unit, where the bridge in the village of Shpërdhezë was damaged by intense rainfall.

Durres District

The situation in the administrative units of Sukth, Katund i Ri and Ishëm is returning to normal, the waters have been withdrawn from the affected areas.

The water level in the Erzen and Ishëm rivers is within normal limits.

The hydroelectric plants in Porto Romano and Hamallaj continue to operate at full capacity.

Kukes District

All national road axes are passable.

Shkodra District

The Theth-Ndërlysaj road segment in the Shala administrative unit has been unblocked.

The Ndërlysaj–Breg-Lumi segment remains blocked, where works will continue today.

Gjirokaster District

The Sofratika-Libohova road axis has returned to normal.

There is currently increased water presence on the Gjirokastra-Tepelena road segment, on the Kardhiqi bridge and on the river bridge roundabout in the city of Gjirokastra.

Elbasan District

Work continues to clear inert materials on the Elbasan-Peqin road segment, in the place called "Murraç", as well as on the Elbasan-Librazhd segment.

Korca District

In the village of Sanjollas, Barmash administrative unit, Kolonjë municipality, the situation has normalized thanks to the unblocking of septic tanks and the cleaning of inert materials, avoiding the risk to homes.

ENERGY SITUATION

OSHEEE teams are continuing work to restore power supply.

-in the villages of Skuraj, Vinjollë and Gallatë, in the Lezha region

- in the administrative units of Topojan, Shishtavec, Zapod, Bytyç and Lekbibaj in the Kukës region

- In the administrative units of Hajmel and Vig–Mnelë (Vau-Dejës municipality), as well as in Iballë and Qafë-Mali (Fushë-Arrëz municipality) in the Shkodra region

- In the Maricaj, Memaliaj area, in the Gjirokastra district

The Ministry of Defense and the National Civil Protection Agency remain on full alert and in constant contact with local structures and emergency teams, to take measures in the event of worsening weather conditions. /CNA
