From road axes to electricity supply/ Analysis of the situation due to bad

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has conducted a general analysis of the situation due to bad weather in the country.

According to information, intense rainfall has continued throughout the country, creating difficult situations in some areas.

The structures under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy have been on the ground since yesterday evening and have intervened to manage the identified problems. The work continues without interruption even in the evening hours, while the groups of ARRSH, OSSH and AKUK are maximally engaged in the field.

SITUATION ON ROAD AXES

Northern Region

• Vehicle circulation continues normally on all road axes, without problems.

• All contractors are on standby with tools and manpower.

• Temperatures are in positive values.

Southern Region

• The circulation of vehicles continues without problems and the situation appears stable.

• Temperatures are in positive values.

• On the Krane – Syri i Kaltër road segment, near the Bistrica 3 HPP lake, there is water leaking onto the road. The maintenance company, in cooperation with the Traffic Police, is on site to manage the situation.

• In Korça Region, all road axes are passable and problem-free.

 ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

 Distribution network

• There are currently 21 feeders out of work, mainly in the northern areas.

• About 85% of breakdowns are in rural areas, with more than half located in remote mountainous territories.

• Two 35 kV lines are causing problems, interrupting the power supply to several substations in Malësia e Madhe (Koplik, Bajzë, etc.) and in the Nënshkodra area (Velipoje, Trush, etc.).

Transmission network

Temporary outages of several lines have been recorded, caused by weather with atmospheric discharges:

• L110kV Fierzë – F. Arrëz and L110kV Kukës – Lapaj: For 5 minutes without voltage in several substations (F. Arrëz, Lajthizë, Kalimash, Tunel, Kukës) and several HPPs. The lines have been restored to operation.

• L110kV Korça – Ersekë and L110kV Përmet – Lengaricë: No voltage for 5 minutes at the Ersekë, Leskovik and Lengaricë HPP substations. Operation has been normalized.

• L220kV Fierzë – HPP Peshqesh: Momentary outage, immediately restored to the line without causing supply restrictions.

• There are currently no active defects or breakdowns in the transmission system elements. The brigades are on full alert.

SITUATION IN THE DRIN CASCADE

• Precipitation continues at high intensity (4–20 mm/hour) in all stations of the Drin River basin.

• In the Koman–Vau i Dejës watershed, about 180 mm of precipitation was recorded.

• Rainfall is expected to continue at this rate for the next 4–6 hours.

• Flows in the cascade have increased and will continue to increase until after midnight.

SUPPLY OF DRINKING WATER

• Water supply is optimal, with all systems in normal operation and at full capacity.

• Wastewater treatment plants and sewers are operating normally, including pumping stations and related plants.

• The readiness groups are operating in 3 shifts throughout the country and are present at all important works in the sector.

SITUATION AT TIRANA PORTS AND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

 Port of Durres

• The situation appears stable.

• Civil, port, energy and water infrastructure are fully functional.

• Emergency and security services are on standby.

• All terminals are operating normally.

• At the Passenger Terminal, boarding on the RIGEL V and GNV CRISTAL ferries continues normally.

 Port of Saranda

• The situation is calm and problem-free.

 "Mother Teresa" International Airport

• Due to difficult meteorological conditions, several aircraft have been placed on hold pending improvement in the weather.

• So far, two Ryanair flights from Rome and Pisa have been diverted to Brindisi.

Structures under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy are continuing to work at full capacity in all sectors of infrastructure, energy, water supply and transport.

Despite the intense rainfall and the problems recorded, the situation is under constant monitoring and is being actively managed to guarantee the safe functioning of vital services.
