Constitutional Court decision/ Erion Veliaj remains dismissed

This Thursday, the Constitutional Court made a decision. It suspended the decree of the President of the Republic Bajram Begaj announcing the date of the November 9 elections for the Municipality of Tirana.

This, according to the decision taken and the announcement made by the Constitutional Court regarding the decree on the election date.

This means that the Constitutional Court has the right to read, evaluate and suspend any act of the President. It is the highest institution of justice. Moreover, the Constitutional Court can also annul the President's decree. But, in this specific case, this court has said that the President's decree is suspended until the court itself expresses its opinion and has taken the time limit that it considers sufficient.

That's it and nothing more. Erion Veliaj remains dismissed.

The presidential decree on the date of the elections has not been canceled either. The decision of the Council of Ministers dismissing the Mayor of the Municipality has not been canceled, nor has the decision of the Municipal Council.
Erion Veliaj, after today's decision of the Constitutional Court, remains dismissed. We are dealing with nothing but propaganda that says that the elections have been canceled, that Veliaj has won, without talking about the ridiculous part of the opposition that is becoming completely charlatans and palacios, saying that they have triumphed in the Constitutional Court, when in fact the truth is one and only one.

A presidential act has been suspended, as has often happened by decisions of the Constitutional Court. Nothing more than that.

Erion Veliaj remains dismissed. Now the Constitutional Court must meet and express its opinion. There are several options; is the decree fair or not? Or it can delve deeper into the issue of Erion Veliaj.

Does he have the right to appeal to the Constitutional Court or should he have gone to the Administrative Court? Is this court competent or not? Or is there a gap?

But this will take some time and they may have declared victory, when in fact they have not won anything. /CNA
