The Secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, in a press conference after the meeting with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated that the attack of September 24 was a sign that conflicts may return to the Western Balkans.

"The September 24 attack was a sign that conflicts may return to the Western Balkans. We had an important discussion about the security situation in Kosovo and the region. In September we saw a serious attack in the north of Kosovo. In May, KFOR soldiers were attacked. 93 soldiers were seriously injured and some of them even life-threatening." , said Stoltenberg.

He said that such acts are unacceptable and that those responsible must be brought to justice.

The NATO Secretary welcomed the proposals made regarding the formation of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority.

"This would be a key step towards the normalization of relations and a lasting peace", said the head of NATO after the meeting with President Vjosa Osmani./ CNA
