The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has sent for trial the file of the defendant AM, the former Chief Inspector of Territory Protection in Elbasan Municipality.

He is accused of committing the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided for by Article 259/2 of the Criminal Code.

The investigations have revealed that on April 15, 2024, within the same day, the former chief inspector signed two administrative decisions:

Decision no. 12, for the demolition of an illegal object of the offender VN, - a tent with metal construction and sandwich cover - in the village of "Katund i Ri", Bradashesh administrative unit.

Decision no. 13, for the punishment of a fine against the same misdemeanor, in the amount of 500,000 ALL.

Then, according to the investigations, the defendant, using his duty, requested and received from the VN citizen an irregular financial benefit of 250,000 ALL, in exchange for the reduction of the administrative measure from 1,750,000 ALL to 500,000 ALL.
