Analyst Kreshnik Spahiu said that the prosecution has an obligation to initiate criminal proceedings against Prime Minister Edi Rama as a person involved in the "McGonigal" case.

In an interview with journalist Erla Mëhilli, he said that the prosecution should investigate whether there are elements of a criminal offense and determine who are the subjects that should be investigated.

"There is an indictment approved by a grand jury and the American court that has completed the investigations, which mentions the prime minister of the country, but also relations that were carried out in Albania.

It is the duty of the prosecution, where the decision of a foreign court states that certain, illegal relations have been committed in your country, the prosecution has the obligation to initiate criminal proceedings and with grounds to prove whether there are elements of a criminal offense. If there is a criminal offense, determine who are the subjects that should be investigated", he emphasized./ CNA.al
