The composting center in Roskovec/Kumbaro starts work: This year we start the

The new composting center in the Roskovec municipality has started work, which will process the green waste to turn it into organic fertilizer that will then be used by farmers and will generate income for the municipalities. 

The Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro, who saw the start of the works, emphasized that this circular economy model is among the government's priorities for 2023. 

“Viti 2023 është shumë i rëndësishëm për qeverinë sepse nisim një program të madh të ekonomisë qarkulluese ku në të njëjtën kohë bëjmë investimet për gjithë sistemin e integruar të menaxhimit të mbetjeve, por në të njëjtën kohë nxisim stacionet e riciklimit e të kompostimit”, u shpreh ministrja Kumbaro. 

E shoqëruar nga deputeti Taulant Balla,  kryetarja e Bashkisë Roskovec Majlinda Bufi dhe përfaqësues të GIZ Albania, partnerë të këtij projekti, ministrja Kumbaro theksoi se deri në fund të vitit 2023 ky projekt synon të mbërrijë në 10 bashki bujqësore me qëllim shmangien e hedhjeve të mbetjeve në pikën fundore që përkthehet në kosto nga bashkitë dhe optimizimin e përdorimit të tyre. 

"In the total waste of the municipality of Roskovec, 60% is organic waste, which is the raw material to produce fertilizer, it is really a very big saving for the municipality and on the other hand, it is a very good use of a large amount of waste that could end up in bins, canals and would be translated into money from public taxes for their management", concluded Kumbaro. 

In the meantime, green waste composting centers have started working in the municipalities of Cërrik and Belsh./CNA.al
