On Tuesday, June 4, another protest is expected against the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, called by the Alliance for the Protection of the Theatre. 

In addition to Civil Society, the opposition forces are also expected to participate. 

CNA has learned that there will be new scenarios in Tuesday's protest, with clear and strong messages regarding the thefts that occurred in the capital city hall, under the direction of Erion Veliajt. 

The next protest will be the tenth in number, where not only artists, activists or politicians, but also the citizens of Tirana will demand accountability from the mayor for corrupt affairs such as that of incinerators and "5D". 

In the past protests, the revolted citizens have demanded that Veliaj immediately leave the management of the municipality and face SPAK for all the violations he has committed.

Meanwhile, his associates, i.e. several directors, are behind bars. 

CNA reported a few weeks ago that even the head of the Municipality of Tirana is under investigation by SPAK. A property investigation is also being carried out for his family members, such as his wife Ajola Xoxa and brother Arbër Veliaj. 

Veliaj appeared very tense and avoided any confrontation not only with the activists, but also with the members of the Municipal Council. 

At the last meeting of the Municipal Council, Veliaj called the opposition councilors street, after the latter asked for clarifications on corrupt affairs. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama apparently let Veliaj go. In media appearances, the head of the government stated that every official must face justice on his own and does not act as anyone's lawyer./ CNA
