Pastor Akil Pano shared a comment this afternoon regarding the "Epstein" scandal, which has taken on even greater proportions in the past week, with the publication of names belonging to the political elite in Europe.

Pano told "Syri TV" that the main problem lies in indifference, ignorance and fear in society, in not reacting to evil.

According to the pastor, it remains disturbing that in a country there are individuals who think they are untouchable by law and justice, capable of doing anything for a little political power.

"Now this is a problem that we face every day. The main problem is not evil. The main problem is the normalization of evil. The main problem is when the good people of this country remain silent in the face of evil, for reasons of pragmatism, excuse me, for reasons of greed, for reasons of indifference, for reasons of ignorance, for reasons of fear. So the great danger is not the crime itself, but its normalization. The danger is when the victims are reduced to procedural details, when the culprits are called the structured network and their names are lost. When the media gets tired and when the public is overwhelmed.

So history is what Plato said. Tyrants are born of uncontrolled debauchery. So Epstein is no exception, in our case, he is a mirror. A mirror that asks us all, what kind of elites are we producing? It is precisely your question. What are we willing to sell for comfort, for convenience, for pleasure, for career, for favors? For enrichment, for power. How much does your silence cost today? So every society that builds offshore for vice, and you don't need an island to build an offshore.

You do not need to build a religious state within the territory of the Republic of Albania to build an offshore state. A certain regime operates on the perception of an offshore state. Any society that builds its offshores for vice will one day build a prison for the innocent. And evil, as I said, does not arise from monsters, but from people who the government has convinced are untouchable and this is the acute problem that we have in Albania.

People with political and financial power, who see that justice can be bought, who see that they are untouchable by the law, who think that with their money and the access they have everywhere, they can achieve and do anything. The responsibility of all of us, starting with ourselves, as fathers, starting with ourselves as citizens, starting with ourselves as Pastors, starting with communities of faith, with clergy.

We have to be the most vocal people, the people who will have to communicate divine truths. I have not read, I do not know if it impressed you or not, but I have not read any paragraph from the representatives that referred to the moral problems related to the Epstein case from any of the religious representatives. Maybe I apologize if I generalize everyone, because someone may have written, but I have not seen anyone communicating. Why? Because this is a question that perhaps they themselves should answer.
