"We debated with prosecutors at the Constitutional Court"/ Cakrani:

Kujtim Cakrani, the lawyer of former president Ilir Meta, said today after the session held at the GJKKO, that several constructive debates were held with the prosecutors to provide some clarifications regarding the case.

In his statements to journalists, Cakrani also spoke out regarding the setting of April 8 for the Constitutional Court's review of Meta's appeal against the security measure, which he described as a catastrophe, due to the time gap from the moment the request was made.

"There were debates with prosecutors about the charges in the request for trial. They are unclear and we have debated to clarify so that the Court understands what it is about. We have made some clarifications. That is why there was a debate. It was constructive, we have not insulted the prosecutors. That is why we as lawyers are obliged. There are no charges and criminal offenses, so we are giving it time. We have been and continue to be open, Meta has always been transparent with the public. We expected the date to be set within this month, but April 8 is far away. It is a catastrophe, while the case could have even gone to trial, we have chosen to remain silent and not speak anymore, as we may no longer be trustworthy to the public," said Cakrani./CNA
