Deteriorating weather situation/ Boating and fishing vessels banned in Vlora

Hydrometeorological conditions are expected to worsen over the next three days.

For this reason, the Vlora Port Authority announces that on November 17, 18 and 19, the issuance of departure permits to small vessels and fishing vessels is prohibited.

Announcement:

For the deteriorated hydrometeorological conditions during the dates 16-17-18-19.11.2025

Based on the forecast for the deteriorating marine hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the Bay of Vlora, during the dates 16-17-18-19.11.2025 starting from 23:00 on 16.11.2025 in the SOUTH-SOUTHEAST direction at a force of up to 6-7bft with wind speeds of up to 15-20m/s and wave heights from 1.50 to 2.50 meters, it has been requested:

1. IT IS PROHIBITED TO ISSUE A LAUNCH PERMIT FOR SMALL FLOATING VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS WHICH WANT TO OPERATE WITHIN THE GULF OF VALORA IN THE OPEN SEA, STARTING FROM 23:00 on 16.11.2025 until 19.11.2025 at 08:00.

2. DRIVERS OF SMALL VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS OPERATING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE GAY OF VALORA SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE MARINE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND TAKE MEASURES TO ENSURE THEM.

3. IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS DUE TO ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS, WE REQUEST THE COOPERATION OF ALL ENTITIES AND INSTITUTIONS ACTIVATING IN THE MARITIME FIELD TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY MEASURES TO SECURE VEHICLES IN THE PORT AND INCREASE THE READINESS OF THE CREW ON VESSELS.

4. International maritime transport vessels will continue to operate normally according to their respective destinations.

5. THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE DETERIORATED HYDROMETEOLOGICAL SITUATION FORECASTED FOR SMALL VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS WILL BE AFTER 08:00 ON 19.11.2025./CNA
