Safety in the oxygen ward/ Lushnja Hospital responds

The Ministry of Health reacted a few minutes ago regarding the numerous public statements about safety in the oxygen ward at the Lushnja Regional Hospital.

Through a timely announcement, the Ministry informs that the cited documentation belongs to the period before December 31, 2024.

According to the Ministry, everything in this department is in accordance with the functional practices of the institution.

Regarding public statements about safety in the oxygen department at the Lushnja Regional Hospital, we clarify that the cited documentation belongs to the period before December 31, 2024.

The oxygen department does not have a formal position of responsibility in the organization; for organizational needs, a technical employee with appropriate education has been assigned, in accordance with the functional practices of the institution.

Fire extinguishers are installed and functional. Oxygen cylinders are supplied by the contracting operator, who is responsible for their technical condition.

To date, there have been no technical failures or explosions.

The relocation of the wards due to reconstruction was carried out according to an approved plan, respecting technical standards and with the knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

The Directorate of the Lushnja Regional Hospital remains committed to the safety of patients and employees and open to any verification by the competent authorities. / CNA
